D''Ohsson''s book was extravagantly illustrated with the help of the best artists in Constantinople qorking for Abdülhamid I and Selim III. The most renowned artists of pre-revolutionary France then executed the gravures in Paris. Some motifs, reproduced also in this present book, still remain quite unique.
